Black Lives Matter Protests

Black Lives Matter protests have been popping up all across the nation, and in fact, across the world. Crowds of hundreds or thousands of people of different races, cultures, religions, etc have been gathering to speak out against police brutality and racism that specifically targets black people. Although the reason for these protests is heartbreaking and terrible, the strength and unity in the crowds is so amazing to see and is a sign of hope for our country and for the world. If you can, get out there and protest! If you can’t or don’t feel safe, it is so important to use your voice and your platform right now to educate others on racial injustices and the Black Lives Matter movement - whether on social media or within your community and/or family. It’ll give you a list of sources to learn more about the movement and to donate or sign petitions in support of Black Lives Matter.

West Hollywood, CA

Instead of holding a protest, community members on the island gathered at a park to discuss racism and police brutality and knelt for 8 minutes and 46 seconds in honor of George Floyd.

Nutley, NJ

The protesters in Nutley walked for over 2 hours, all over their town!

 

Century City, CA

This group of protestors met in Century City and walked towards Beverly Hills, all the way to the Federal Building in Westwood.
